The weekend would begin with a day at the Indiana State Museum. The older children would enjoy the science exhibits with animals, rocks, and minerals. The younger children would enjoy an experience in the IMAX theatre showing popular movies in 3D.
After an educational day, the family would retreat to the Holiday Inn at the Pyramids where the kids could enjoy an evening at the hotel's indoor waterpark. To make it easy, the family could enjoy dinner at the hotels restaurant, Calypso Cafe. When all of the family has had their fill a relaxing night in the hotel will complete the day.
The following day there are several options depending on the age of the children. The Indianapolis Children's Museum is a great place for children under 10. Connor Prairie is a wonderful family historical site based in the colonial days of Indiana's pioneers. Complete with renactments, people dressed as time-freezed hosts, and several hands-on activities make for a great place for children and adults to learn about the past. Don't forget to visit the gift shop for some treasures from the times. |
