A tradition since 1954, the Valley Mills Friends Chicken Barbecue will take place on August 6 and August 7 at the Valley Mills Friends Meeting at 6739 W. Thompson Rd in Decatur Twp. Both 1/4 and 1/2 chickens, homemade side items including baked beans, coleslaw and brownies as well as rolls, watermelon, pies and beverages will be available for purchase. A market table will feature handmade craft items, canned goods, breads, cookies and more. Proceeds will fund outreach to the local community and the wider Quaker world.
